Im going to try this.
Can someone please direct me to the best and easiest way to unlock a 1.1.1?
Do I jailbreak the phone first or after unlocking the SIM?
Thanks

search...... As in the guides on the left (it is a valid suggestion)
Do you think they went through all the choices before making the guide and decided to use the most difficult?
Best and easiest way to unlock and jailbreak, etc a 1.1.1 is to use the jailbreakme.com method.
Now search the guides on the left....
first hit: http://www.modmyi.com/wiki/index.php...out_of_the_box
second hit
http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Unl...out_of_the_box
Which tells you to check out the previously one if you haven't jailbroken it yet.
AMAZING, it took all of 2 seconds of searching on my part.
So how long did you REALLY search? And did your searching consist of looking around your room for magic beans and someone to jump up and say, "HERE let me do that for you"?

You said search, and I searched the threads here as well as other forums, add YouTube into the mix and which really got me confused.
I will take you advise and check out the left side of this forum.
(You get nailed when you dont first search the threads, when you do try to be proactive first by searching the threads you still get made to feel like your abusing everyone) cant seem to win.

Problem is, it really does take seconds to search. In fact you yourself said you found many guides... did you try following any of them before posting? There really is no quick and easy solutions to modding a device, no "one step" procedures, you have to get down and dirty. And if you're not willing, maybe modding isn't for you.
This isn't meant to be discouraging, however when the same questions are asked time and again (when guides are plainly available) many users simply get tired of the same explanations time and again.

Again I revert to my first and original question:
And after I searched and find so many options I generated this thread.
As I wrote above: I am looking for the best and easiest way to unlock a 1.1.1
I am trying to tap off the experience's of those who have tried some of these method's / apps, to get a census to which is easiest and better, and which is not a good idea to follow.
Success's, as well as failures.
WOW!!!! that is what the theory of these threads were based on in the earlier www days.
Thanks

With 47 posts you should at least have a bit of an idea of how these forums work. Just seems that everyone trying to upgrade wants their own personalised tutorial.

No thats not it I want your opinions, findings, a summarized conclusion.
There are post for and post against each type of procedure.
Hey I maybe its because I am old and gray that I ask so feedback, opinions.
As I said earlier I remember when forums were birthed, and what they were first created for / to achieve, and well my question since I am not asking for a tutorial is not off topic or base.,
Have a Nice Day
Thanks

This is turning into quite the subject. I too remember the old days when forums were born, and back then they were simple message boards. They did not have the ability to store downloads, maintain Guide sections, gallery's, advanced search criteria, etc... So the only way to get info was to ask questions.
This is no longer the case. A simple search will 95% of the time reflect your question and its answer. And in order to reiterate, a consensus is not necessary either, there is nothing "easy" about these mods. Any one of the guides will get you where you want to go. Searching for the "easiest" one seems a bit lazy.Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.
