    I have no idea if I am correct, but I assume that when you run jailbreak to allow mods it puts the iPhone in a sort of recovery mode. Then when you try to update, it forces a complete restore first.

    Well is there any way to reverse jailbreak after you have modded the phone? That way you could just regularly update, but no longer mod.

    No I modded after the update fine. I'm looking for a way so that we would not have to restore the phone for the next update.
