Process Advice

Sorry I have searched for what I need and only get pieces of individual items not a process.
I have a ATT phone at Apptap Installer version 3.0b8. I want to upgrade to vs 1.1.1 and have access to my 3rd party apps.
Now I have uninstalled all my previously installed apps but I cannot uninstall installer itself.
I would rather not restore and automatically update to 1.1.2 then downgrade.
What am I ok doing? Can I manually upgrade to 1.1.1 directly or do I need to remove app tapp installer first. whats my best course of action with the least amount of risk? Thanks, I dont need to unlock, I just hope to get 3rd party apps without bricking my phone obviously
