what in the world could use up all that space, the apps i have are,
swirly mms
mobile chat
installer
customize
kate
video recorder
mobile finder
mobile preview
i have added a very small ringtone, i have no videos recorded, i used i liberty to jailbreak.
anyone help?

If you did a restore and not a dfu restore (clean wipe) it keeps the applications folder for the applications and media (nes roms) that were perviosly installed.

have u recovered ur phone and then updated it with the backup itunes made?

if so, recover ur phone agen, but make it new, instead of update with the backup.

since you should have the contacts saved in outlook or windows contacts, you can easily sync them back up
