Exclamation My Dilema! Please help, thank you. :)
I'm an AT&T customer who purchased an iPhone running 1.1.1 firmware. I used iBrickr to revert to 1.0.2 firmware and allow me to install third-party applications. I'd like to upgrade to 1.1.1 firmware and use jailbreakme.com.

My question is this- what is the easiest way for me to upgrade my patched 1.0.2 firmware to 1.1.1? Do I need to use the revirginizer? I'm a legitimate AT&T customer and never tried to use my phone on any other service.

    Thanks

    1) Sync your phone
    2) Restore phone with 1.0.2
    3) Update to 1.1.1
    4) Sync your phone to restore contacts and music
    5) Go to jailbreakme.com
    6) Install appsnapp
    7) Have fun

If I help you then Please thank me

So I just open up iTunes and do a restore? Will this make my iPhone as if it were new with 1.0.2? I don't have to worry about bricking?

Will iTunes automatically update to 1.1.1 or will it install 1.1.2? Thanks! I'll add a thank you when I finish this.

As an AT&T customer who never unlocked you'll be fine. You don't need to virgnize. You don't need to stay at 1.0.2

You can even upgrade to 1.1.2 if you want to

Only things you'll ever lose by restoring or updating will be the 3rd party apps. But since there are jailbreak methods for all 3 software versions already available you can regain them almost immediately

it should. 1.1.2 is not ever on my iTunes yet! hold shift/option when you click restore. If you need to select 1.1.1 instead of 1.1.2

So I can literally just upgrade to any version of firmware without worrying about bricking? Having kept my iPhone on AT&T service since it was new could I literally just upgrade to 1.1.2 from my 1.0.2 (ibrick'd) phone?

For some reason (And this has been the source of a LOT of problems for people) even though you don't see 1.1.2 as an option for update or restore the update server will automatically pull 1.1.2 when you choose Restore or Update

You have to use the Shift/Option Restore method to ensure the version you're updating or restoring to

When you ay iBrick'd do you mean jailbroken with iBrickr? Or have you had problems with the phone?

All I did was use iBrickr to downgrade 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 and patch the phone so I can install 3rd party applications.

What I'd like to do is upgrade to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 and allow third party applications.

Since I never switched services from AT&T can I literally just upgrade straight from iBrick'd 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 and then patch it again?

    Thanks
