I have an OOB 1.1.2, after installing the oktoprep, when i try to upgrade to 1.1.2 i become error 1 and the phone stay in only in recovery mode, i canīt upgrade or downgrade, only restore it.

hey I got a problem, i did shift restore and used iPhone firmware 111 for my itouch but it didn't work at all so I got the 111 for the itouch and it gave me a
An unkown error occured. could not restore (5)
Or something like that. Why is it doing that? And no it didn't downgrade to 111 when I reactivated it w/ ibrickr.
and yes I wanna keep it at 111 I don't wanna downgrade again to 102

I used sendsong and it did'nt work with most of my songs, and it took forever to scroll down to find the songs I want. I'm using iphoneringtonemaker works great even on the 1.1.2 firmware. If accidently deleted the serial key in my file, When I find I will post it up so people can use it without that annoying trial. It works just like the itunes ringmaker without having to pay 2 freaking dollars a ringtone!!! I will post it as ASAP

iscariote- you have to use ibrickr to boot your phone.

Yomommah- just downgrade to 1.0.2 with ibrickr and then upgrade to 1.1.1 with iTunes

dumb question but gotta ask. if i do a restore in 1.1.2 it asks if i want to make up a backup. would i be able to make a "restore point" with the new broke 1.1.2?

Yep! That "backup" is made every time you sync as well!

so if i had to restore cause something is not working right, which it did. do i have to go back to 1.0.2 and start all over again or can i shortcut it? (which i did, took less time this time around, but a pain in the arse)

you can go to 1.1.1 and use ibrickr and iTunes to activate your phone. You wontbhqve any service bit if you have wifi you can then jailbreak and install oktoprep and then upgrade to 1.1.2 and jailbreak

UDPATE (11-16-07): Thanks again for the overwhelming interest in this guide! I have updated the guide to include Jailbreaking an Out of Box 1.1.2 iPhone!!! I have not tested this as I don't have an Out of Box 1.1.2 iPhone to test with but when you do PLEASE post your results or where things went wrong! (also a few other minor updates)

This product was shipped on Nov 9 from Shenzen, China (Apple factory) to Chicago.

Followed your instruction all the way through - then... got stuck:
- When doing the bbupdater -v command, instead of getting the "baseband unresponsive to pinging", i get the following information:
firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM 04.02.13_G
eep version: EEP_VERSION:208
eep revision: EEP_REVISION:1
bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:4.6_M3S2

Looking for next step at this stage. Please advise.

i recently update my iphone by accident...it was on 1.1.1 with oktoprep then update to 1.1.2...
my question is which steps should I follow?

Thank you, I now rebooted the phone.

I followed everything and didn't have any problems until I got to where I have firmware 1.1.2 and have installed "Oktoprep" from version 1.1.1.

After I updates to 1.1.2 on itunes with Oktoprep installed, I notice that the installer.exe applications is no longer on the iPhone. There's no mention on whether it's suppose to be there or not.

Now, after installing jailbreak and opening the windows.bat, I keep getting two error messages. Error message TMP40685.exe and TMP23870.exe both saying "Entry point not found". The message on the dos program is saying that my iPhone it not connected to the computer.


I have restarted the computer and repeated the steps for the past couple of hours but I alway get the same result after upgrading to 1.1.2.

I will really appreciate some help please on what else I can do after I have installed OktoPrep.

Installer.app is installed during the 1.1.2 jailbreak process by jailbreak.jar (which is run from windows.bat on a PC)

Make sure the three dll's (iTunesMobileDevice.dll, QTMLClient.dll, readline5.dll) and most important the jailbreak.jar that came with 1.1.2-jailbreak are in the same directory as windows.bat
