Post One-click Jailbreak for 1.1.1 (Windows)
    One-click Jailbreak for 1.1.1 (Windows)

This will jailbreak your iPhone and install Installer.app. When it's finished you will have Installer on your springboard! No need to patch the springboard either--it's all done for you automatically.

I tested it and it works. No need to fumble around with SSH. No need for WiFi.

Before beginning be sure you are on a freshly restored/updated 1.1.1 iPhone. You also need to ensure that .NET framework 2.0 is installed before proceeding. If you don't have it get it from Windows Update (or proceed to the longer guide, which doesn't have this requirement).

    Easy 1.1.1 Jailbreak/Installer

Wi-Fi connection is only required to load Niacin and dre's TIFF, not for the rest of the jailbreak. This should eliminate the "Connection timed out" problems people with bad wireless connections are having.

1.) [NEW v6 with GUI] Download the following file, and unzip it into a folder:
    Code:
    http://www.slovix.com/touchfree/touchfree-setup.exe
    Source (for revision 5):
    Code:
    http://zoo.cs.yale.edu/~yw226/ipod/source.cs
    Prerequisites

    * .NET Framework 3.0
    * iPhone 1.1.1 firmware installed: Check on your iPhone with Settings->General->About
    * A copy of iTunes installed on your computer that is able to sync with your iPod
    * You need a WiFi connection on your iPod to do the initial TIFF hack (visiting one link with Safari). An internet connection is not required for the rest of the jailbreak

2.) Place a copy of iTunesMobileDevice.dll into the above folder. If you don't have a copy grab one from here on your PC:
    CProgram Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin
    Or download it from here:
    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/62133418/iTunesMobileDevice.zip.html
    3.) Visit
    Code:
    http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com
on your iPhone. (Do NOT visit that page unless you are jailbreaking!)

4.) In the folder from step 1 run touchFree.exe. Don't worry about the "touch" name, it works. Follow the on-screen instructions. Be sure you reboot twice when instructed.

That's it. When finished you will have Installer on your springboard! (Don't forget to install Community Sources in Installer to see more apps.)

    Advanced Users (dropbear to OpenSSH)

Both guides install dropbear SSH. If you would like to switch from dropbear to OpenSSH, follow these instructions.

For those who used the one-click guide:

1.) Install BSD Subsystem using Installer.

    2.) Install UIctl from Installer.

3.) Run UIctl (be careful with this application). Tap au.asn.ucc.matt.dropbear and choose "unload -w."

    4.) Install OpenSSH with Installer.

5.) Connect to your iPhone using WinSCP, username/password of root/alpine.

6.) Using WinSCP delete the following files and folders on the iPhone:
    /etc/dropbear/dropbear_rsa_host_key
    /etc/dropbear/dropbear_dss_host_key
    /etc/dropbear (folder)
    /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/au.asn.ucc.matt.dropbear.plist
    /usr/bin/dropbear

7.) Restart iPhone. Verify in UIctl that au.asn.ucc.matt.dropbear is gone, if so dropbear is not loaded (which is what we want!).

8.) You may delete UIctl if desired (using Installer).

For those who used the original guide:

1.) Install the BSD Subsystem using Installer.

    2.) Install OpenSSH with Installer.

3.) Copy com.apple.update.plist.orig from your sshkit folder to: /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.update.plist

(Delete com.apple.update.plist beforehand, and make sure com.apple.update.plist.orig is named com.apple.update after copying.)

    4.) Restart iPhone.

5.) Connect to your iPhone using WinSCP, username/password of root/alpine.

6.) Using WinSCP delete the following files and folders on the iPhone:
    /etc/dropbear/dropbear_rsa_host_key
    /etc/dropbear/dropbear_dss_host_key
    /etc/dropbear (folder)
    /etc/hackinit.sh
    /etc/init.d/dropbear.sh
    /etc/init.d (folder)
    /usr/bin/dropbear

    7.) Restart iPhone again.

Update: A member phoenixfire425 has used the following method to successfully jailbreak using the One-Click method, may be it can work for you:

    - Restored the iPhone 1.1.1 firmware by rebooting the iPhone by using the hard shutoff and holding the home button down (ref to the 1.1.1 downgrade to 1.0.2) then i pressed restore firmware on itunes.
    - It ran through its process. then i activated the phone through itunes (im a AT&T customer) then after activated.
    - CLOSED Itunes, i ran the browser (http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com) once browser crashed i ran the touchFree.exe it took about 5-10 mins for the first part to complete. and then i rebooted. and rebooted and rebooted.
    - Finally i ran the restore on the iphone from itunes otherwise it would never let me sync. rebooted. and then i tested installer.app by installing the BSD Subsystem. and test all apps!

    NOTES ON SSH/SFTP
    -----------------

    - Username to SSH is root, password is alpine
    - Recommended SSH client is PuTTY
    - Recommended SFTP client is WinSCP
    - If you're getting "connection timed out" errors, continually browse with Safari on the iPod
while trying to connect to keep wi-fi active.

    NOTES ON iPhuc
    --------------

    - iPhuc will not show / after this procedure, but you can get root by typing the following command into iPhuc:

    setafc com.apple.afc2

    NOTES ON RESTORING
    ------------------

You can restore at any time during or after the jailbreak process. Your iPod will be in a fresh, un-jailbroken
    state.

If you're having trouble restoring your iPod, first put it into recovery mode:

    - Disconnect your iPhone from your Mac or Windows computer.
    - Press and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously for about 20-30 seconds,
until you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle accompanied by
the text "Please Connect to iTunes."
    - Now try to restore with iTunes.

If you're still having trouble, a reboot of your computer is often helpful.

    CHANGES
    ---------

Revision 5 adds more mandatory internal checks that each step has been completed successfully:
    - Every file upload is now verified
    - Some shifts in how mkdirs are verified
    - The iPod is now checked if niacin and dre's tiff exploit has been used before proceeding
    - If the iPod image download fails to complete entirely, the failure is now detected and the download will be retried.
    - All failures now cause the utility to retry endlessly instead of a set number of times.
    - It also adds an auto-reboot feature to eliminate one manual reboot.

There have been no substantive changes to the jailbreak itself, so if you have already completed the process successfully, there is no reason to re-do it.

I end the iTunesHelper.exe process, which is responsible for launching iTunes whenever an iPod is connected. So if you connect your iPod and iTunes doesn't appear and sync as always, just open iTunes yourself and tell it to sync. It should work fine. A reboot of your computer will restore the iTunesHelper.exe process.

In any post asking for help:
    - Please tell us what version of Windows you're using
    - Confirm that you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed
    - Confirm that you have indeed visited http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com on your iPod and Safari crashed. A surprising number of people don't follow the instructions.

Also note that this is only for 1.1.1. On your iPod: Settings -> General -> About should show a version of "1.1.1 (3A110a)".

I counted more then one click?!?! haha BTW, i haven't tried this method yet, but is the "Advanced Users (dropbear to OpenSSH)" method optional or is it neccessary for jailbreaking?

If everything is working, No. That is only for people who would rather run OpenSSH instead of dropbear SSH.

Yes, I've tested it myself on friend's AT&T activated phone.

Safari will close, because that site run an exploit TIFF image which enables Jailbreak. This was Naicins method of jailbreaking on v1.1.1 phones.

Ok, I ran safari with the site. It crashed.
I ran the touchFree.exe but it says reading flash image or something, then it says Failedon't forget to go to the site...

I tried getting the .NET Framework 3.0 but I am on vista, and it tells me to turn windows features on or off to make it work. But I cant seem to navigate to windows features =[
