Default Help with a setting on a new 4s?
Just got a new 4s today and it's my first Apple product ever. Was having trouble with my BB, so I dumped it.
Question: I would like to set my notifications for tonight while sleeping. I would like to shut down all notifications like emails and text messages, but still receive phone calls in case of an emergency.
Where do I find these setting options.
I found the slider on the side near the top left of the phone, but this appears to just shut off the ringer........I could be wrong though.

    Thanks, John

Alright, that little switch on the side is actually a silent switch. You can manually turn off notifications for apps through the Settings app. Then click Notifications and click on apps you want to change and then change the options.

So there's no quick option to select Vibrate Only, Phone Calls Only or Silent Mode?
If I use the silent switch, will the phone still vibrate?

It will vibrate if you have vibrate enabled in Settings/Sounds
