[Help] Failed update to 5.0, Cydia not working.

This is hopefully something that is easy to solve, I downloaded the 5.0 firmware for my iphone 4 vzn. when i tried updating a couple times, i got an error saying it was unable to update the firmware.
now i realized that i cant connect to cydia or any of my sources, this isnt a big deal, but im going abroad doing service work in two days and i'd rather not be bothered by this for the next 6 months until i come back.
If anyone knows the solution to cydia not working, i'd really appreciate it <3

You should upgrade to 5.0.1. Are you hitting "upgrade" or doing a shift+restore in iTunes for 5.0.1?

Yes but was there an error number? And we're you using the "upgrade" button or the shift+restore method?

Same happened to me and all I did was hit restore, and it updates also at the same time.....

This is simply because the servers powering these essential Jailbreak services like the BigBoss repo, ModMyi repo and even Cydia are under a lot of demand. This is because the first iOS 5 firmware generation Untethered Jailbreak was released and thousands upon thousands of people are trying to use Cydia at the same time. This puts very high strain on Cydia’s servers, Cydia tweak/theme’s servers and all of which is causing Cydia to become slow and unresponsive. Thus, it is not a problem related to Cydia’s software, it is simply a problem of too many people accessing Cydia at the same time.
