The thread below about not being able to transfer apps to the ver iphone has a few people chiming and saying you can.
The thread went a bit sideways so I'm hoping someone confirms or
    kills this idea.

Yes, wifi and voice can work at the same time. It is 3G data and Voice that cannot be done at the same time.

Whenever you are using 3G (the cell providers' internet connection) then you cannot use items on the internet while talking. You can do things that do not require data. Or view emails that are already downloaded but any replies will not send till after the call is over.

    Excellent.......thanks for the details.
In your opinion, is it a useable
alternative to one of the main verizon
iphone gripes or more of a klunky
option you would just not use?
To me...... its as valid as facetime and Youtube needing wifi to use.
I'm surprised there is not more mention of this option since wifi is
    so commonly used.

I agree! As much of big deal att and everyone that has att likes to talk about voice and data at the same time, we can do the same just over wifi. Surprising this wasnt mentioned to let everyone know. Granted its better to be able to do it over 3G but the fact that I am on wifi throughout most of the day I am fine with this. I didnt learn that it was even possible until after my purchase just like the rest of you guys. Now that I know its become very useful whenever I may need it.
We can do voice and data at the same time too!

I enjoy leaving my att iphone wifi on so it picks up a signal where ever i may be.
In phoenix.... wifi uses far less battery life and is faster than 3g
    while browsing.
I run internet radio up to 8 hrs a day
and there is no comparison between
    the 2. Wifi rules!
Could be great for the power munching verizon iphone 4.
