It's Not Piracy!
Today, I got an email from my ISP (AT&T) saying that my computer contains pirated episodes of The Office. It states that I have downloaded it, and that a suit is in action. The thing is that I didn't download anything. Isn't piracy the recording, uploading, or downloading of music or videos? Please tell me what you think about this.

Nope, it was from an authorized AT&T email address. And it would have taken them hours to write this...it was very long!

A friend had time. And you can fake any email address. The only way that I have seen ISPs catch you was when you were downloading torrents unencrypted and the big guys catch it. They then send an email to your ISP and then the ISP is supposed to handle it.

DisneyRicky: Would for sure think your "confession" in your 1st post here is way more dangerous than an email from "AT&T". That email is with 99.99999% certainty spoofed and not genuine.
PS. .... edit yr 1st post deleting the "confession" is what I would suggestDo hope that helps

It is piracy but I seriously doubt it's real. How could they know you downloaded something if you never actually downloaded it? You used absolutely no bandwidth according to your story.
