Default Is it ok to Update Carrier settings?

Hey when I connect my iphone to the computer it shows that there is a new firmware 3.1.2 i think but whatever i ignored that cause I don't feel like restoring. But anyways after that it shows this message saying Would you like to update your carrier settings etc etc.

Is it ok to click yes or will it mess up my phone since it's jailbroken? I have an iphone 3g 3.1 fw

I have the same question. Have a jailbroken 3G with 3.1 firmware. Am I going to lose the JB if I install the Carrier Settings upgrade?

If it's not safe to upgrade, does anybody know how to dismiss the stupid pop-up from being displayed every time I connect my device the to computer?

    Default Just installed

I just installed the carrier settings update. I'm with AT&T. I'm still in business. Cydia is working and all my settings and apps are as before.

It was a gamble but it was worth it. I no longer have to dismiss the annoying update MSG all the time.

BTW. MMS is now working. I'm still jailbroken with 3.1 firmware.

For me, the installation of updated carrier settings did not cause any problems. I did not lose my jailbreak and I did get the ability to send MMS. You're probably safe if you upgrade (only apply the carrier settings though and not 3.1.2 upgrade).

I have the 3.1.2 FW and Jailbroke it just fine. Just recently, I've been getting the update carrier settings message. I'm worried about updating the carrier settings, can anyone tell me if this will kill tethering and using the phone as a modem? Is it safe to update the carrier settings and if it's a gamble, how can I go back?

I updated my jailbroken 3Gs (3.1.2) with the carrier update and it's also still working fine and still jailbroken.
