You cant apply wallpaper to the home screen with Customize, you need Winterboard.

Guess I should have asked before what firmware you have. I guess I assumed you were on 2.0 or higher. If you have Freeboard you are still on 1.1.4 or lower on a 1st gen iPhone. If this is the case, you can switch wallpaper on in Freeboard. Make sure freeboard is also "on".

Open Customize, scroll down to Freeboard preferences and toggle Freeboard on. Reboot your phone (power off and on) then go back into the same freeboard preferences via Customize and turn on wallpaper.

Isn't winterboard only for 2.0 and higher? The original poster is on 1.1.4.

OP: If you wanna use customize you got to use Customize 1.21 (Don't ask how, if you don't know you aren't gonna pull it off)
