So i was wondering, is the phone supposed to show a notification at the top in the status bar when you recieve an sms or email? Currently mine doesn't and it kinda sucks. I downloaded some new icons, but they dont seem to work in the first place. Is this just how it is, or do I need to look into something to get it fixed?

ok so, I just read that this is only able to be done with a 3rd party app called TaskbarNotifier, which isn't out for 2.0 yet. I'm compelled to ask then, why Customize 2.0 has notification images for download if you can't use them without installing them manually? anyone?

The only solution to that i know of is intelliscreen. It will display the liitle icons like we had in the 1.1.X series ( sms, mail, missed calls ) I mean I use intelliscreen alot so its good for me but if someone just wants the icons on the status bar, i have no idea. Havent seen anything on cydia or installer for what you are looking for.

Agreed, I cannot get Intelliscreen to work reliably at all on my 3G, and I dont need sports/news etc, I just want to know if I have an email without unlocking my phone..

i used to use taskbar notifier and it was great, i dont understand why apple hasnt added icons in the taskbar. anyway i hope i see taskbar notifier in cydia soon!

I've been using Intelliscreen for a while and i guess it's ok. I still dont get what all the custom notifier icons in customize are for. They don't seem to work.
