I love the iPhone auto correction dictionary, don't get me wrong. But what really makes me mad is that the iPhone always corrects lol as LOL.

Usually the dictionary learns and will stop correcting it, but it NEVER has not suggested lol as LOL in all my time with my iPhone. I click the little x for LOL every time, but it still wants to correct it LOL.

I don't want to say LOL, I want to say lol. The person I'm texting doesn't need to be screamed at thank you very much.


Anyone else have the same issue?

Yep that annoyed the heck out of me, cracked it open with the extended settings to to turn that feature off ; )

LOL. I also hate when the phone goes I'd instead of is.
Has anyone noticed that if you press the backspace on a word when typing, autocorrect gets disabled for that word. You should see how annoying this gets when you use the phone as much as I do.

eg, if I want to type "marketing" but instead it comes out as "msrketinf", if I tap the backspace even ONCE to replace the "f" with a "g" so I can make it msrketing in the hope that autocorrect will kick in, it won't correct it (which I want) but it will do nothing, meaning that I need to go back and edit, wasting valuable seconds of typing time... *sigh*

That's the next word correction that ticks me off
I also hate the backspace thing too.

I wish there was some solution to this insanity, I would rather LOL my contacts then disable auto correction altogether.


Is it possible to edit the dictionary?

But if I turn it off I have to correct things by myself.

I have more important things to do like watch tv or surf the internet... Sheesh...

I hate the backspace issue. I don't really type lol on my iTouch, so it doesn't really bother me.

Hahaha, I hate that it corrects lol as LOL... And I fall for the backspace prob all the time. I still like that it learns your words a bit over time. I'm actually pretty good thanks to the auto correction.
