[PROBLEM] iPhone keeps turning itself on

iPhone keeps repeatedly turning itself on after i turn it off.
It also keeps randomly saying "This device is not made for iPhone"
even though there aren't any accessories plugged into it.
It also drains the battery in couple of hours.
Does anyone have a clue about this problem?

I had the same problem. Restore the phone and take it back to the apple store. The genius bar guys know the problem. they will take it back and give you a new one.

Just make sure there is no gunk in the charge port of the phone.

After a hint about the connection port, I've solved the problem!

Here is how, step by step:

1. Connect your iPhone to the Dock
2. Turn it off while plugged in the Dock
3. Leave it turned off while charging
4. After charging, turn it on while the iPhone is still plugged in the Dock
5. Disconnect your iPhone from the Dock

This worked for me. I hope the problem will not come back.
Try and please inform if it worked for you.

I'm having the same problem, everytime I turned the phone off it booted right back up and had the same iphone accessory error when no accessory was connected, unfortunately your fix did not.

My phone does not want to remain off and it just turns right back on. Any fixes on this?

Edit: I can't even restore my phone now because of this.

Update: Phone only remains off if I hold the power button down but turns back on when released.

Have you followed the steps?
Did you try to turn it off while it is plugged in the Dock?
It is important that you turn the iPhone on, while in the Dock.

Restore will not help you. So, no need to bother.

Yeap, tried your steps.

I can't seem to turn it off while its plugged in the dock or directly to the usb cable the phone turns on automatically and won't completely shut off.

I don't have anyother docks to test this on. I just have the one that came with my phone.

Hmmm... strange...
In my case, the only way I could turn it off without
turning itself on, was in the Dock.

Well, maybe I'll figure out something... or someone else will.

Thanks iPhoneMK

Update: I accidentally put my phone in to restore mode and now it keeps on cycling through the apple logo and restore screen when its unplugged, turning off and on. When I plug it in, its stays on the restore screen and then I tried to restore it on itunes and no luck with that.

Now I let the bt completely drain and now charging it, I'll post the next update on what happens to my phone next.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New Update: K I got the phone restored and unlocked via ziphone onto 1.1.4 now. Held the home button down during the attempt to restore so i wouldn't automatically restart and that did the trick. However, it still restarts on its own when I turn it off.
