first off all, hello from the other side of the pond (ireland) and thanks for all the great things you guys are doing with with the iphone.

okay down to buisness, im going to miami for halloween(dont ask) and id love to buy an iphone while im there and unlock it when i get home.

my question is, can i just walk into an apple store and say "iphone please" and hand over the money and get the iphone in return? or do i have to sign anything or give a social security number?

this is probably a really stupid question but i need to be sure

cash and carry try to do some reasearch on finding one with 102 firmware so you can easily do all the good stuff like i said cash and carry

oh cool, thanks for the reassurance. if i cant get one with the 1.0.2 software on it cant i just use the app. (cant remember then name) to downgrade it to 1.0.2?

i really cant wait to buy it now, it should be out here by xmas or soon after....probably later though, and definitely locked to bill pay, so it should be cool being the first person(that i know) to have the iphone on pay as you go.

even if it wont have the push voicemail i wont really care, if i get a missed call i just ring the person back lol

yes you could but as of now there isnt an unlock for 111 or baseband downgrade
so you wont be able to use it in ireland i think
