mainly because ive heard of some LCD issues. Like negative something and dead pixels. But im not sure which phones were affected.

The only thing i've heard of is the 7 series versus 5 series lcd screens, but with newer firmware updates i havnt heard anyone complain about the 7 series screen"The glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall."

Which one would I have? are they similar of is one better?

You can find out which panel your iPhone has by dialing *3001#12345#* then tapping Call from the Phone application. This will put iPhone into “Field Mode” where you can select “Versions” to find out what version of the LCD you have.
the 5 series is better, but it really isnt a big deal
supposedly a 5 series screen is brighter and sharper, but apple hasn't akgnowledged a difference between the two
if screen quality seems to be an issue, you can always exchange it, but i think you will be pretty impressed with the iphones screen"The glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall."

The issiue is that the two series screens were manufactured by different companies. Some 7 series screens have been known to have some black shading and some brightness issues. I have seen several 7 series phones next to 5 series phones and none of us were able to see any difference at all. So even if it's a 7 series screen, I wouldn't worry too much. If you get the phone, compare it to someone elses. If they are similar in brightness and there are no shadow artifacts, your OK. If there are, then return it for a replacement.

well if im getting a week 29 build iphone, it will probably have the earlier 5 series screen wont it?

there is no early or late version. They were both manufactured from day 1, but the source of the screens were 2 different companies. Still same applies. The series 5 was not an update to series 7.

I see. So its just hit and miss. Is there a particular batch that were affected the most . eg between week 32 and 36. Or are they just scattered everywhere?
