iphone 5 on ios 6.1.2 removing jailbreak for warentee
Ive been reading here and elsewhere, but im unable to find my situation
my phones been acting up (getting warm, crashing etc..)
my phone is 2 weeks out of warentee, however they said they may be able to make an exception cause i didnt get my phone till mid oct 2012.. so im about to take it in or do the email tests, but i need to remove the jailbreak
im trying to remove the jailbreak so i can get possible warentee claim
but i dont want to upgrade it to ios7 in case i dont get the warranted phone
is there a way to just remove all traces of the jailbreak and leave it possible to put the jailbreak back on if i dont get a replacement phone?
currently im on ios 6.1.2
ive just run semiRestore,, but the phone is still jailbroken

thanks for your reply,
just ran ilex-rat and it is identical to SemiRestore as far as end results are concerned
it removes all tweaks/cydia mods stc.. but still leaves it jailbroken, and still leaves cydia icon on it
wont they see that when they email diagnose it?
i could uninstall cydia installer in cydia to make the icon disappear but would they be able to tell its jailbroken?

You can try that. They really don't look to see if its jailbroken or not. But that should work.

they didnt say a thing..
on another note...
for all those wanting to wipe all cydia apps with semiRestore or ilex-rat
use ilex-rat for sure..
they're both just as easy to use,, however,,,
i used SemiRestore first.. and it wiped everything (so i thought)
but right after i used ilex-rat and it removed everything that semirestore missed, like caches and settings that were dependant on cydia apps etc..
try them both out yourself,, u will see ilex-rat is a more complete jailbreak apps remover
SemiRestore is nice but they need to do more work on it to catch up to ilex-rat
just a personal observation
thanks again 2k1

Ok new problem lol
I can't get Cydia back
I tried all the methods I could find here and elsewhere
But I'm unable to get Cydia back on my jailbroken phone
I even tried to rejailbreak with envision, it says it was successful but Cydia was not installed
Any way to manually reinstall?

Download Cydia deb file and put in Cydia / auto install folder. Reboot iPhone ,check if Cydia is there.

I don't know how well the cydia fix/restore option works with ilex rat but you could try running that since you already know about ilex rat

How did you remove the Cydia Installer to make the Cydia Icon disappear from the iphone desktop.
I need to take cydia off of my Idevice to take it to the apple store. My phone keep looking for the update and I can not reset the phone network and setting to erase of the info on it and I am not able to restore or update.
Thx for any help you can give.
