06-22-2013, 04:57 PM #1iPhone 4s 6.1.2 - Speakerphone works but no sound on music.
I googled this problem and mostly it is a hardware problem and upgrade to 6.1.3 is mostly suggested to fix it.
I can't really do an upgrade because I am using a non permanent sim unlock on it.
Since it was jailbroken with an older version of evasi0n, I am thinking of re-jailbreaking it with the latest version.
Is it ok to run a jailbreak on it again? Is there any special step that I need to do before doing the jailbreak?
NOTE: I tried total reset, restore using its own backup, and restore using another iphone 4s backup(also using 6.1.2).

Can't be done on a 4s like you trying to do. Your only option is like you said said restore it.

Can you just give an idea what will happen to the 4s if a re-jailbreak is tried on it without restoring it first?

How about running a different jailbreaking tool on top of evasion? Is this possible or a BIG NO?

Your 4S can not be restore to ios 6.1.2,it has A5 ,and apple is not signing 6.1.2 But there might be some hope try using semirestore or iLex rat to fix your sound issue.I have fixed an 4s that had wrong tweak installed and still was able to keep J/B,

I tried ILEX RAT. I was able to hear the sound when I played music but unfortunately it lasted only up to the middle of the second song.
If there is anything else that I can try, I am very much willing to.
Please let me know.
Thanks a lot.

They have released SemiRestore this weekend for PC and Mac try using it,Also I'd remove the music, and any app's thing's that could interfere with fixing the phone,If there's a broken file system then you might have to restore up but this wouldn't hurt in the mean time.
I would remove everything possible from the phone then run Semi and then resync see if sound come's back

ILEX RAT and Semi Restore did not help at all.
It was this that fixed it: add source Redirecting... and install icleaner pro, open it up and go to the 2nd tab along the bottom and I believe it's the accessory deamon, turn this off and click apply.
Thanks for all your time guys.
