i really can't think of anything i downloaded from cydia that might have caused this but it is worth mentioning that i recently purchased Tetherme and have been playing around with that as of late.

Once in a while i will reboot my phone through the power settings in sbsettings. Today, without thinking really, my iphone 5 was plugged into a wall charger and i hit reboot. When i came back to check it, i had the connect to itunes screen. I have tirelessly searched the web for ways to bypass this screen to no avail (maybe i'm not describing my problem well enough). My last backup was almost 3 weeks ago and i would really like it if i could somehow preserve my info, jailbreak, etc. Please help,

unlocked iphone 5 on t-mobile running ios 6.1.2

Clicked reboot? Not sure if we have enough info to try to help.
What is the phone doing/not doing.

Sorry, i edited the post and deleted some key info by mistake. Anyway through the power option on sbsettings where it gives you the option to respring, reboot, shutdown, etc. I clicked reboot wile my phone was on the wall charger thinking the phone would just restart, but instead it went to the connect to itunes screen

Perhaps try using tinyumbrella to kick it out of recovery mode.

This is the action tinyumbrella performs before failing each time and retuning me to the connect to itunes screen.

05/19/2013 18:30:42.624 Sending exit recovery request to Device
    05/19/2013 18:30:42.951 Recovery Device disconnected:
null 05/19/2013 18:31:55.061 Recovery Device connected:
Also Fix Recovery icon is no longer 'clickable' i only have the option to exit recovery and i have tried that multiple times already with no success. =/

i also have the option to save SHSH, if that is any help

You can also try resn0w, in extras, recovery fix.

    trying that now

no luck their either. Is there any other means where i can preserve my jailbreak or stay on my current firmware 6.1.2?

i am getting more and more tempted to hit restore in itunes =/ it seems like both tinyumbrella and redsn0w cant get it out of the connect to itunes screen.

i was able to get my device into dfu mode and select the 'fix recovery' option in tiny umbrella. I am now awaiting the results...

Did you try to restart the phone by holding the home button together with the power button for 15 seconds?

I have already tried that. Unfortunately, i couldn't find any additional methods that might help so i just restored. I'm just going to have to appreciate my jailbroken ipad 2 that much more lol; and avoid coming to modmyi and seeing tempting tweaks for the iphone till the next untethered jailbreak comes out. haha
