Default Help me find my songs on my PC
Since I reinstalled XP Pro. I wiped the drive and reinstalled XP Pro, reinstalled iTunes and synced my phone. My music is still showing up on the iTunes sync box thingy but I can't find the folder on my computer where the songs are stored.

    When I to to \My Documents\My Music\iTunes there's...

    \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml
    but it's in gibberish ...

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<!DOCTYPE plist (View Source for full doctype...)>
    - <plist version="1.0">
    - <dict>
    <key>Major Version</key>

and there's \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library... which opens the iTunes sync box showing my phone.

I suspect it is in the file \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library but it is all showing up in xml which I don't comprehend.

I also know the procedure where you hold shift and open iTunes and it asks you to create or open a library. That still won't open a folder that I recognize as my songs.

I can't even find my songs on my PC when I search for the song name.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

Sounds like you iTunes media files are missing. Did you do a full backup of your data? If so, what did you use?
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

If you can't find the song files on your hard drive, you may have lost them.

    Thanks a bunch, Captain Obvious!

I know I wiped the iTunes Libraby off my hard drive but I've done this 20 times before but always got it set back up after the reinstall and resync.

    Grrrrrrr.

Hi, I presume, since the resync you have no music on your iPhone. This is a bit of a long shot, but If you install Cydia tweak myTunes and reboot. It will make a myTunes folder with links to any music (if you have any) you still have on your iPhone. If you are lucky enough to find some, then use the iFile web server feature to copy them to your PC. There are two versions of myTunes depending if you are on iOS4 or 5/6
