    Default Question about warranty
I have an iPhone 4S and it has a bunch of scratches on it and I was wondering if I could take it to the apple store or to AT&T if I break it. I have warranty on it till November 2012 but I'm not the original owner. I bought it off at craigslist. He gave me the box and receipt btw. So is it okay if to do so or they need the original owner to do it? I know I won't get a fully brand new phone but a refurbished one will look better than a beat up phone I have now.

If its jail broken to be on the safe side I would restore and go back to stock. If the screen is cracked they will just replace it don't see them looking for anything.

I'm not quite sure that A&T will cover this...

they are pretty strict when it comes to warranty replacement for iphones, and accidental damage is not covered by it...

typically they will cover it if its a hardware defect, or a software defect..

but I dont want to bring your hopes down, so give it a try
