Manual backup of iPhone before full restore
Hi
I've been looking everywhere for some up to date information in regards going about a manual backup of...
Address Book
Messages
Calendar
Notes
etc...
but all I can find is ones from several years ago which I'm worried may not be relevant anymore as I've seen some saying there are sometimes problems with putting the address book database back on the phone.
Can any one help me out here??

In iTunes, right-click on your iPhone and select Back Up. This does a backup that is stored on your computer. I've also been able to extract data from the those backups (Mac utility; unexcited backups.) You can view the last backup date in iTunes Preferences > Devices.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

I am on Windows and was hoping to do it using WinSCP just so I know I have everything covered.

iTunes does cover everything related to stock apps and whatnot. Won't backup Cydia stuff though.
But, sync info via iCloud and use iCloud backup. Then manually backup via iTunes. Pretty foolproof.Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

Not sure you're following me here. I want to manually backup all my Address Book, Messages, Calendar, Notes, etc so I can totally clean my iPhone by setting it up as a new iPhone and NOT restore from a backup. But this means I wont get my data back from all the mentioned apps, but if I have the manual backups I can just jailbreak the fresh iPhone, SSH into it and put back all the data for those apps manually.

I see. Are you running iOS 5? There's no need to manually backup if icloud syncing is used. Maybe a windows utility to extract data from your iTunes backups is a good idea. I also use PhoneView to manually export data from the iPhone.
I'm not sure how to do it any other way.

Yes, on iOS 5... I'll look into iCloud then. Kinda wasn't sure how it worked in case it wiped my iCloud data when I set the phone up as a new phone. Thanks for your help!

No reason not to use iCloud though. It's absolutely invaluable for me.
