Iphone 4s & TomTom

Hi just a quick question can you use your iphone and tomtom app with cellular data turned off and not using the wifi.. ? my friend said you could but so far i'm not getting very far with so to speak .. i'm off the states in august on a fly drive but don't wont to get stung with a big phone bill....

no TomTom does not use your cellular data for navigation

the map that TomTom uses to help you navigate is stored on the phone itself

the only time it uses cellular data is if you want to search google, which is contain in the apps built in function

Also, TomTom needs data connection for traffic updates. If you only use it for navigation and voice turn-by-turn then no data connection is needed.
