just waiting now for the week to pass! the wait seems long!

i hope you try to downgrade from that ipad baseband. try to do that first. then create a cfw for 5.1.1 (stich your shsh blobs into a 5.1.1 ipsw using redsn0w). i don't know why, but sometimes the apple servers will only accept a cfw from some computers even though that os version is still being signed. anyway, once you've placed your phone in pwned dfu, option restore your phone using the 5.1.1 cfw. i hope this helps. it certainly won't hurt to try.

Phone has been off since saturday evening,is it too soon to try?
I have confused myself, when i do try to restore from the phone wipe, should i use a custom ispw?

Battery drain fixed the boot loop huh? I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference. Once again I learn something from you Simon

Well, it technically wasnt boot loop. He said the phone was showing up normally in itunes but the screen just showed the apple logo. Thats what tipped me to needing the battery drain trick, have come across the same issue myself once.

Interesting. So if it wasn't a boot loop, what was it? Why would a battery drain fix this problem?

Same issue as that other thread we helped in with the battery drain. Needed to be reset. Most likely caused by choosing the wrong device or bootrom when using redsnow (or something similar). Or the old spirit2pwn thing. There are a few things jailbreak related when used wrong that can lead to this type of thing happening.

I see. Usually error 28 tips me off for the battery drain. Never seen a restore succeed but still sticks to the apple logo. Would have never thought to reset via battery drain in this case. Glad I dragged your name in here to solve this lol.

Sorry for the lack of reply
Huge thanks to i.annie and simon, this thread got my phone working like a dream and i don' think i could have done it without them!
Sadly the phone crashed at work today and its back to the apple logo,i think its time for a new battery!
Sorry to bump the thread but does it sound like the battery? or should i just sell it for parts?
Once again thank you
You the best
