Thread: My iPhone 4S battery is dying fast.

Default My iPhone 4S battery is dying fast.
I know a restore might fix it but I am jail broken on 5.0.1 and don't want to upgrade.

How can I find out what is using so much battery? I just use it normally. Mostly txt messaging. Almost no phone calls and very little video. I almost never listen to music and the battery will be at 20% within 5-6 hours.

    What can I do?

You're one of the users with the battery draining issues on the 4S. It's supposedly fixed at 5.1. You'll have to choose between jailbreak or battery life

It wasn't like that before. This problem started about a month ago. Probably after installing something from cydia.

Well, technically it could be many things, however, the most likely cause is a tweak/mod you have running in the background. Having lots and lots of stuff on your phone will slow it down, and drain battery. Think about what you installed before having the problem, and delete that if you want. Good luck!

I think I have narrowed it down to the time to lock feature. I was playing with it and now it i back o one minute and battery life is back to normal.

thats good but dont make any assumptions yet, test it at for at least a couple days to determine for sure if it is that feature

With your device on highest brightness with too many energy consuming apps running in the background battery may not perform well, however if in your scenario, its not the case then most probably there will be some hardware issue.

I'm pretty sure that was the issue. The phone is back to normal in the last few days.
