Accelerometer has stopped working with photos and browse albums
Hi,
I have been successfully using my unlocked iphone for just over a week. I followed every step in the 4 part guide (IPhone_unlock_OS_X_Part_1 to 4). Great guide.
Yesterday I noticed that my photos and album art browsing won't switch to landscape like it use to? The only things changed over the last few days was installing aquarium and butterfly games. I have since uinstalled.
I have tried hold sleep and home for 10sec, and power down, but no luck. Sensor apps shows everthing is ok with the accelerometer (arrow points where it should), just the stock iphone apps won't respond to rotating.
What should I do? Can I repeat the 4 part guide in full without screwing up my phone?Last edited by infra; 10-03-2007 at 09:11 AM.

Yep. Sensors is working. So probably not hardware.
Do I do all 4 parts again to the guide? will it screw my phone if done a second time?Last edited by infra; 10-03-2007 at 09:14 AM.

"Sensors" from Installer.app shows everything working, so can't be hardware can it.
Has anyone found where the settings for acceleromater for iphoto and albums are? I've seach using cyberduck but no luck.
I think the new firmware includes additional settings for safari horz flip, so it is either an application or global setting???

Hi,
My iphone has the exact same problem. The accelerometer works with any app from Installer, but it doesn't with photos, safari or the iPod app.
Yesterday I've restored my iPhone, it worked again. But then I just took a photo and it no longer works since.
I just can't figure out what's going on!!
Did someone find a solution to this problem??

Replied to both threads about this, tho both old. iPhone 3G btw.
I had the same exact problem. My phone used to be jailbroken as well but I didn't bother yet in 2.2. All Apple apps would ignore the accelerometer but installed apps from the App Store such as iLevel worked fine! It had been going for a couple of days and just when I was about to reset and take to Apple, it fixed itself this AM!
All I did was turn the phone off and plug it into my MacBook Pro. iTunes kicked out some kind of error so I unplugged and replugged and after sync it works..! I'll let you know if this "sticks" or not... I am somewhat skeptical.
