Default Help: Voicemail icon won't disappear
Just got my 4S, got it all set up...and I have a red dot above my phone icon for voicemail. I go into my voicemail, I have no new messages, and no saved messages.

How the heck do I get rid of the thing?

so your voicemail is all set up with a password and everything?

this might be an obvious technique, but have you already rebooted the phone?

if you did a restore, its not an app issue, its most likely something inside your voicemail inbox causing this, maybe a stored message that wasnt read or something, who knows, check all your storage location on your voicemail and see if there is nay residual

Weird, I too have the same exact problem with my iPhone 4 iOS 5.1 obviously not Jailbroken.

I've rebooted my iPhone and it still doesn't eliminate the red circle. My iPhone ends up just correcting the error itself.

I had a similar issue with a NON JAILBROKEN iPhone with the "messages" app. I found by backing it up and then doing a full "erase all content and data" this cleared the badge alert. I had read it there had been bugs to do with the syncing of address book contacts with the messages app and not displaying the saved contact with ios 5.0.1 that had been distributed in some versions of the 5.0.1 Update. I mucked around with some files - which i probably shouldnt have which caused the badge alert to stay on.All I had to do was sync my iPhone once the erase all content and data was done and the phone was back to how was without the nuisance badge alert.

Sounds like it could be a corrupt file in voicemail or mobile phone app?

Not sure this will help u but sounds kind of similar in some ways...

My iPhone had been previously Jailbroken but I had put Apples 5.0.1 when the issue arose...

do not do an "erase all content and data" if you care about the jailbreak for the 4s

just let it alone, it will probably resolve itself and the badge will disappear once you get more voicemails and delete them
