Hello guys, firstly I have used the search function but cannot find anything related.
I have Sky Go on my 4S, which used to be jailbroken. Since Sky released the update not allowing jailbroken users to watch Sky Go, it obviously stopped working. I've restored my phone to factory settings wiping off the jailbreak, and it worked fine for a few days, but now I get the same message!!
the following is the error that I get when trying to watch something:
Unknown error - please restart the app if this error persists, or try again later
anyone have any ideas?

That's strange... I use it on a jailbroken device & no problems as long as you use xcon with it.

It used to work fine until Sky updated it, then it stopped working. I used xcon to override that and it worked fine then too.
I restored my phone and it worked for a few days but it simply doesnt work at all now.
Tried everything, with/without Wifi, reboot iphone, uninstall then reinstall, uninstall reboot iphone then reinstall.. nothing

Yeah... I've literally JUST installed sky go on my other device just now
The fact that you restored factory settings doesn't mean the jailbreak has gone however, you'll still have residual files on the phone

Really? How do I get rid of it then? I assumed once restoring, you lose all jailbreak data?

What iOS are you on at the moment?

Ahh, ok... So it's not a local restore like I thought but an upgrade from 5.0.1... In which case these's no valid reason why you should be getting that error unless perhaps after you upgraded you then did a restore from backup which was from the 5.0.1

erm that must be it?
the backup would ofc have to be from 5.0.1 because I backed it up before upgrading to 5.1?
so if I plug my phone to itunes, backup, then restore to the backed up data it should work?

Your backup is still going to contain residual jailbreak files... What you want is to do it as a new phone & not use the backup... Just do contacts etc etc through iCloud instead

Havent used iCloud before.
Will it restore all my settings and messages though?
04-02-2012, 12:43 PM #12
Hmmm... The messages I'm not sure on that respect.. So I wouldn't like to say to be honest.

Your pictures can be retrieved, so that's ok... It's just the messages part... I'll have a think on that one for ya incase I come up with an idea
