IPSW's from felixbruns site
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that all the stock 5.0.1 IPSW's that you used to be able to get from here (that actually came from Apple servers) seem to have now all vanished?

Odd, looks like it. Maybe consider tweeting at him to ask why? Here's an alternate firmware link list that seems to have the iOS 5.0.1 links still.

It was a pirate site (it had downloads of paid for ipsws) so has probably been taken down.
The Wiki is a far better site for legal ipsws Firmware - The iPhone WikiHe who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Paid for IPSW's?? From apples servers???
I dunno where you get the idea it was pirate, clearly states that by clicking download you WILL be redirected to an "Apple inc server"
None of the IPSW's that are listed there have been charged for not that matter have been pirated in anyway

Yes - iPod Touch users had to pay to upgrade their ipsw but felixburns linked directly to the paid for ipsws

Yes, there were paid updates for old versions of iOS (2 and 3) on iPod touch. There's some speculation about why here, and an Apple support document confirming it here.
