Default Still able to update to 5.0.1?
I've got a jailbroken iphone 4 on 4.3.3 and as I understood it, with 5.1 being released I cannot go to 5.0.1 anymore. However, I wanted to double check because when I plug the iphone 4 into iTunes Version 10.5.0.142 it says:

"A newer version of the iphone software is available (5.0.1). To update your iphone to the latest software, click update."

I figured if I click update, despite the message above, it will update to 5.1. But, I just thought I'd double check.

    Thanks!

Thanks for confirming - the info I quoted sort of confused me.

Usually when a new iOS version drops they drop a new iTunes also. You are on older version of iTunes so it thinks that 5.0.1 is the newest availible.

No...probably not...I bet if u hit check for updates, iTunes will go out and see the update...but don't do it if u don't want to update...like Cer0 said, you'd really want to update iTunes first...I know apple sorted out some storage reporting issues between the phone and iTunes...
