I have a 3gs 5.0.1. I have a problem that I have not seen discussed on any forum yet, unless im searching for the wrong tag.
I have EVERYTHING on the springboard turned off (that I know of). I have set my memory usage to display on the status bar. with the phone sitting idle, I can watch the memory go from 146 to 7mb in about 20 second or so, then immediately go back to 146mb and continue to repeat the process. If I open ANY app during the process, it will not crash the springboard but it will close the app. So basically I cant run anything on my phone for more that 20 or so seconds. I have looked at the reports with the settings menu but that is seriously a foreign language to me. I have not yet deleted all of my apps or attempted to restore my phone. I really want to ask around before I get to this point. Can anyone offer me a suggestion other than restore?
Please bare with me, I am not an expert at any of this but I can do more than average user.
I noticed that this page has the ability to post pictures or files, if you tell me what to go get off my phone that will help you diag. the problem, I will figure it out.
Thanks in advance!!

Definitely interesting... I didn't have iOS 5.x on longer than a few days...didn't notice this issue...perhaps a clean restore is in order...do you unlock?
Oooo I noticed just now u have 5.0.1...restoring to that may be difficult as the signing window has been closed for a few days now...
