I just installed the absinthe jailbreak on my 4GS. Works great. Love the Siri tweak, and the Pandora tweak.

I installed some apps that I had run on a previous device I had, specifically 5 app dock" and after it reset the springboard, my app layout was completely different! Most of my apps were taken out of the folders, it looked almost as if it remembered my old app layout from my old device and tried to merge it with all the different apps I now have installed.

So, whatever.. Figured it would be a good opportunity to purge a bunch of apps I hardly ever use.. So I deleted many of them and reorganized the rest into folders.

A few hours later, I go to install another cydia app, a video screenshot app, and it did it again! This time with a whole different set of apps!

I'm assuming the first time, I didn't have enough pages to fit all the apps without them being in folders.

So, what should I do? Delete and reorganize these too? Or am I wasting my time again?

I tried syncing with iTunes before I did a full restore from the pre-jailbreak backup and instead of overriding the app layout with what iTunes remembered, it replaced my most recent backup with a new backup of this messed up app layout so I can't even restore from my pre jailbreak backup even if I wanted to.

So, why is it changing around my entire configuration of apps when I install certain cydia apps I already had before, but it doesn't do it with others. It seems to do it at random, but with only apps I may have previously owned.

Anyone experienced this before?

I'm half tempted to just delete every single app on the online, but it'll go right ahead and reinstall them when I install a cydia app again.
