stolen/Lost iphone!!
i just lost my iphone4 some guy picked it up.. and he won't return it.. he Powered Off my phone..
i talked to the apple guys, they said they can only trach iphone if it's turned on and on Internet!!...
i also reported to the police, but here(india) police doesn't help much!!.. was wondering if any1 have any ideas on tracking it??

keep tracking it if find my iphone is on and apply to email notification so once the iphone is powered on and conect to the net which the person will have to do eventually you will have his location

What about the carrier you use in India, do they have EIR (Equpiment ID Registration) on the network?

Can't or Won't? The bottom line is if someone puts in a SIM card and uses the phone on the same network, they (the carrier) would see it when it registered. IMSI/IMEI/Ki is transmitted when a GSM phone initially registers on a network. The IMEI is what would tell them its your phone. In some countries a police report is required before a carrier would take any action. Not sure if its the same in India...

in here the police does everything.. once the man who has my phone turns it on.. they will be able to locate it.. but i need to bribe them first xD..

yup.. that's a normal thing in india.. xD
but he'll be happy with 200-500 rupees($4-$10).. worth it..
