    Default Weather Setting Issue
I'm running iOS 5.0 with the untethered jailbreak on my iPhone 4. I'm finding that my settings in the native weather app are not saving. If I delete a city and re-sequence the others, save the setting (clicking "Done"), then respring or reboot, the settings revert back to prior to my changes (the deleted city is back, the sequencing is as it was prior). I'm not sure if this is a symption of the jailbreak, the use of Lockinfo, or if it was the case prior to jailbreaking (I don't think so).

Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance

Lightbulb possible solution - it worked for me.
    Hi

    I have found a solution.
You will have to edit a plist files on your device.

    root/privat/var/mobile/library/SyncedPreferences/com.apple.weather.plist

    See attached screenshot

    Here you go root/values/Cloudcities/value/

you will get a list showing

    0
    1
    2
    3

Depending how many cites you have added. 0 represent the first city listen in the app.

I live in Barcelona so I changed CityName to Barcelona, and Woied to 753692

Here you can add the cities you want to shown in the weather app.

You find the Woied for your location by going to Yahoo! Weather - Weather Forecasts | Maps | News and search for your location.
I searched for Barcelona and got the following URL Barcelona - Catalonia Weather Forecasts | Maps | News - Yahoo! Weather

All you do is get the number from the URL and put it in the plist file.

I hope this will help you.

Make sure the weather app is shut down. I also disabled all weather related apps I had like WetherIcon, Lockinfo etc.

This is only a temporary solution ad there must be some Jailbreak app that is interfering with the native weather app.

I edited the file (using iSpirit) to delete the unwanted city, but it's still showing up. I had closed all weather apps, and I've resprung, rebooted, and done a cold boot. Is there something in a cache somewhere that needs to be deleted?

I've sent a note to the Redsn0w support site about this.

I also found one other oddity...some audio streaming sites (not Pandora, but some others I have) have their audio shut down if the phone goes into lock mode or I go to the home screen to launch another app. Must be something else with the jailbreak. Odd.

Im sorry I forgot to specify. I also disabled all weather related Mobil Substrate Addones via SB Settings.

I also found another plist file related to the weather app. I didn't have to edit it though but maybe you do.
Its located her Root/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ then open com.apple.weather.plis

    I hope it helps

Default Solution to Weather Setting Issue. Working..
I just did the same ting to my wife's iPhone and it works! :shifty kitty:

So here is the fully guide to how I made it work.

You will have to edit two plist files on your device.

First disable all weather related Mobil Substrate Addones via SB Settings - I also disabled Lockinfo.

    root/privat/var/mobile/library/SyncedPreferences/com.apple.weather.plist

    Here you go root/values/Cloudcities/value/

you will get a list showing

    0
    1
    2
    3

Depending how many cites you have added. 0 represent the first city listen in the app.

I live in Barcelona so I changed CityName to Barcelona, and Woied to 753692

Here you can add the cities you want to shown in the weather app.

You find the Woied for your location by going to Yahoo! Weather - http://weather.yahoo.com/ and search for your location.
I searched for Barcelona and got the following URL http://weather.yahoo.com/spain/catalonia/barcelona-753692/

All you do is get the number from the URL and put it in the plist file.

Save and overwrite the file on your iPhone.

    The next step

Edit this plist file related to the weather app.
Its located her Root/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ then open com.apple.weather.plis

Make sure your city is listed first like the other plus file.

Thats it reboot your device. and enable the weather related Mobil Substrate Addones via SB Settings and Lockinfo.

I worked 100 % on my wife's and my own iPhone 4 on iOS 5. One Jailbroken with redsn0w and the other first jailbroken tethered with redSn0w and then made untethered via Cydia.

    good luck.

Good news. Strange I haven't read or heard of anyone else having this issue. You post was the only I could find via google.

But glad I found a solution..

Default I also had this issue
I'm not sure what caused it, but I was unable to make changes to the stock weather app, whether it was ordering, additions or deletions. I would make the change, but it wouldn't stay after respring.

I discovered that if I go into safe mode, then make the changes, then respring, it works great. You don't need to go into all this plist editing junk.
