My iPhone 3g is running very slow and some apps just crash without even opening. It is jailbroken on firmware 4.2.1. Is there any way to make it faster?

    the iPhone 3G doesnt run on OS4 very well there are many guides how to improve the speed on here, ive tried them and found the best solution was to downgrade to 3.1.3 and its fast and the battery lasts for ever

    But you won't get some apps that are on iOS 4

    Correct, however it does solve the lag issue.

    suppose you have to weigh up the pros and cons i restored to 3.1.3 on mine as the lag was doing my head in

    Yeah I'd prefer staying on iOS 4 because most apps need iOS4
