please help iphone 4 won't connect to anything!

I haven't been able to find this problem here or on any other help forums.
I just recently jailbroke my iphone 4 on iOS 5.0.1 and the only available option (at the time) was partial tether, which was fine until this morning. I woke up to my phone connected to its usual charging cable (the one that came with the device) but I was getting the message charging is not supported with this device. It had a pretty low charge and when I tried to connect it to my computer or alarm clock dock not only did it not charge but it didn't connect at all. When I tried my other cable again I don't even get that message anymore, now it doesn't respond to the cable at all.

I don't know what else I can try, as even if I found a way to charge it I would still need to connect it to my pc before it is usable again and as I said earlier that connection isn't working either. It is less than a year old so I could send it in but I have no way of restoring it before I do so and jailbreaking voids warranty. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try hard reset twoce or so it should work.

how do you suggest I do that? As I said it can't connect to a computer, it has no battery left and it cannot be charged. Is there another way to reset the device?
