how to restore all apps

I have a 3GS on ios 5.0.1 and terrible battery.
after 100% charge its down to 70% after barely an hour of using emails and facebook.
so I heard that to restore it as a new iphone might help the issue.
my question is:
I have lots of apps on my phone and alot of JB tweaks.
Is there ANY way of getting them all back on the phone after restoring it as a NEW iphone?
If i have to redownload everything, I'm not sure I wanna do that.
Any help is appreciated.

P.S: did anyone ever try a third party back up software? by googling i found: www.iphonebackupsoftware.org?

U back it up to itunes then restore.

Transfer purchase apps on the phone to computer then do what ever u intent to do. Under the App menu choose the one u loke sync back to the new phone.

also you can purchase the Cydia app PKGBackup to save and restore your tweaks and jb apps
