So I gave my brother my older 3GS which was unlocked and jailbroken, probably running on 3.1.2. Not too sure about the exact numbers but definitely outdated. For some odd reason after a few months, he decides to press the update and restore button in iTunes, and of course it bricks the phone.


Now here I am trying to fix the issue at hand. I've run into a few issues before even starting. I am currently not in the states, so no access to a AT&T sim. So will I even be able to activate the phone?

Lastly, what would be the best iOS to update it to, and using what method. Thanks!
