    Default iMessage "Waiting for activation"

I am on untethered iOS 5.0.1 and when I go to the Messages setting, iMessage is on but it says "Waiting for activation".

Checked my me.com email and didn't get any activation email.

    Anyone else having this problem?

The jailbreak shouldn't interfere with that. Just let it wait and activate. It takes time. Also are you using the official sim or it's unlocked?

It is a AT&T phone and I used ultrasn0w to unlock it to Vodafone NZ.

I used the official AT&T sim to activate it so it's not hacktivated.

Okay hmm I'm not sure if Vodafone supports iMessage.

Does it matter what carrier I'm using? I thought iMessage can be activated through your Apple ID?

It doesn't work for my T-Mobile so I think it does matter.

But if yours depends on Apple ID, try making a new Apple ID and log in iMessage.

It's still saying "Waiting for activation" but I can send and receive iMessages by using my Apple ID.

Is the "Waiting for activation" message for activating your sim card to iMessages?

I have no credit for sending SMS so this could explain why it's not activating?
