Default 5.0 wipe out iOS Jailbroken mess and stay on 5.0?

Ok so it's been a bit for me on all this and although I like iOS 5, it's not very nice to the JB community. Lol.

I have an iPhone 4 that's in a terrible "SWIM attempted to uninstall semi-tethered" state... It's running iOS 5.0 and I would like to just wipe it out and start over on 5.0 I have never seen "Erase all content and settings" in settings work right on a jailbroken device.... Esp one in this state... It's still running iOS but barely... Lol

I want to keep 5.0!!! Is there anyway of doing this?

    Thanks in advance!!!

No sorry there isnt apple not signing 5.0 anymore

And if ya do erase all contents and settings i heard on a jailbreak device that's a bad headache. So i would stay away from there.

So my only shot is to try the "Erase all content and Settings" ????

Might as well.... What do I have to lose?

Wonder if it will do any better if I choose that option while it's in safe mode?

Or semi-tethered without tethered Jailbreak applied.....

You still won't stay at 5.0 you would have to go to 5.0.1.

I can do it all day long on my dusty 4S running 5.0

It always comes back on with 5.0(9A334) ready to go.... :scratch head:

***I'm just reffering as if the native iPhone erase went through***

(I'd just ram 5.0.1 on it if UN-tether wasn't supposedly "so close"

So seeing how this is my only shot at a wipe and keeping 5.0, anyone have an opinion on whether I should go with a wipe in safe mode or semi-tethered mode??? :scratch head:

At this point I'm just willing to try a "1 shot at it" kind of experiment and see what happens....

BTW... This is just the logic board out of a 32gb white iP4 w/nasty shattered screen going into a black 16gb chassis that was water damaged . Screen was only thing that survived I think. So this will take me a minute to swap some guts. Maybe I should run a poll? Lol

    Safe Mode?
    Semi-tethered?
    Jailbroken to the MAX?!?!?

Probably going with option 1 or 2 Lol

Lol, thanks buddy but that's in a higher part of the thread. I'm going to do that. But, I wonder what state I should have it in when I do.

I'm gonna go with safe mode I think....

I'm in a similar predicament and have decided to just move to 5.0.1. Even if the untether comes out, you and wouldn't be able to use 5.0. Since I'm going to start anew and stuff, I'll try the Erase all Contents and Settings option for you and let you know. I'm currently stuck in safe mode, so it'd be done out of safe mode. I'll update you as I progress.

Edit: So I tried this. I got the spinning wheel thing, and after 2 hours, it just kept on spinning. I ended up just putting it into DFU mode and tether booting it because I lost patience. I got nowhere: everything is just as it was prior to the Erase all settings and data.

If your still on 5.0 get iFaith, it now saves the blobs and the AP tickets so you can update to 5.0.1 and downgrade any time you want. Read this post..
