I recently downloaded iSilent from Cydia onto my phone. Since then I have noticed I no longer get the 'whoosh' sound when sending a SMS. I also do no get a new message tone when my SMS window is open.
I have uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, and checked the UISounds folder. All of the .caf files are present. Is there a file that stores the sounds to play that I could modify? I'm very familiar with Unix and would not be afraid to modify a file, just not that familiar with the iPhone file structure as far as how system settings are stored.
If I need to restore what would be the best approach so that I lose as little as possible? (The phone is jail-broken) It is my understanding that the iTunes backup does not include settings so I'm not sure if this includes tones settings or not.
Interesting that the sounds are still there...there must b a plist file or something that was modified...so in your sounds settings the sound is checked?....try changing Tina different one, cold boot, and try again...other than that, I wouldn't know how to recover other than restore...which I just did, cuz I forgot I had deleted iTunes last time...I just got done putting my sound files back on...
