spinning wheel issues

i have this iphone 3gs which my friend gave to me its stuck on spinning wheel.
when you turn it on first you get apple logo the into spinning wheel endless
itunes see's it and ive done a restore and an update even tried jailbreaking it and running tethered boot still same thing tried restore via DFU still same im stuck need help?

After restoring, what does itunes say? Does it complete or is there an error?

No iTunes see's it and give the message no sim card

Is iTunes fully updated?

Yes iTunes is fully updated it had its screen changed recently would that have anything to do with it

What do you mean correct guide? I've tried dfu and normal iTunes shows no errors after or before
