11-27-2011, 09:56 AM #1Please help, iphone won't turn on, haven't found a similar situation anywhere
So here's my situation
A few days ago I take out my iphone 3g and see it's not on, so i figure the battery is dead. I plug it into a wall charger and the apple logo comes on like normal, but after like a minute it goes away an nothing happens.
If i try to turn it on again I get the apple logo again, which disappears again after a minute.
I have tried plugging it into my pc but my pc doesnít recognize it, tried with an without itunes turned on.
I have tried to get into dfu and recovery mode by pressing the home button and the sleep button for the required times but get no reaction at all.
Iíve browsed the forums and all, but canít find a solution that works for me.
If anyone has any tips, Iíd be very thankful

Is it jailbroken?

Have you tried putting it in restore mode? (hold the power and home button until the connect to iTunes thing comes up, or whatever the new iOS 5 restore mode looks like)
And then plug it into iTunes if that works.
There's a chance this is a hardware problem, in which case if it is not jail broken bring it to apple.

it is jailbroken, but it has been jailbroken for months.
I tried the restore thing, but it just stays on the apple logo.
I doubt it's a hardware thing since it occured so suddenly. Also, I took the logic board and and put it in a different iphone and had the same problem. I took a working other logic board and put it in the "broken" iphone and everything worked.
Since it's a pretty old phone i don't want to take it to Apple, the warranty expired and they will probably charge more to fix it than i'm willing to spend
thanks for the contributions so far

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing the problem is the logic board....

Git a board for it if possible?
