cant add or edit contacts on iphone 3
I had to purchase an iphone3 as my iphone4 went swimming an as it wasnt insured i couldnt get another. I went and brought the pre paid iphone3 and synced it on itunes to my old iphone4
my problems are i cant add new contacts or edit existing contacts, call contacts from my contact list, i go into settings mail, calendar and contacts and it cancels out and goes back to the home screen this is what it also does when i try to add new contacts etc
i have restored it on itunes than syned it again and everytime i sync i get a message saying it could not sync contacts because they are being synced over the air. i hate this whole icould thing so i went into setting and deleated the account still no change
i am so frustrated and annoyed as to why it is doing this. does anyone know what i can do ?

What FW was your iP4 on? It is a really bad idea to restore from one phone to another but especially so if they are on different versions of iOS - which I guess yours were.
Just set the iP3 up as new and synch your contacts and apps back and all should be fine.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Do you not synch your cotacts to exchange or some other program on your computer?
All your music/app will still be in iTunes - provided you synch with iTunes. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

The iPhone does not store contacts on the SIM - Do you have your contacts on your computer at all?
If not see How to extract your contacts from iPhone or iTunes backup - Funky Kit

Good luck - hopefully should be fine now. You should synch your contacts with your computer once you've got them back - or with Google contacts. Saves a lot of hassle!

I've just been around long enough to know some of the answers. Glad I could help.
