4GB of "OTHER"???

well title says it all. my iphone is showing 4gb of OTHER. around 300-500mb is normal but 4gb is just too much. And itunes says that free space available is 1.6gb but when i check on iphone it says 433mb. I'm jailbroken on 4.2.1

is there any other way BESIDES restoring?

Are you trying to figure out what the "other" is?

I know before my last restore, my "other" was several gigs too. I haven't put any winterboard themes on this time (just two dreamboard) and its pretty low. Its amazing how easy it is to install a LOT of stuff when you're bored and looking through cydia.

Maybe spend an hour or so looking through your packages section in cydia and get rid of some themes and stuff you don't use.

I also found that I had downloaded a lot of movies in MXTube and also from "certain" sites with safari download manager, so maybe have a look in your media downloads folder in iFile and see whats there.
