Using iPhone in china

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or advice using an iPhone 4 while travelling in China. Currently my phone is on the Rogers network in Canada (not unlocked or jailbroken); Version 4.2.1 and baseband 3.10.01. I will be living in Beijing for about a year, and was hoping to use my iPhone 4 out there.

I'm looking into maybe getting the Gevey Sim Pro for the phone to unlock it, as I understand that is one of the ways to unlock this version. I'm open to other suggestions though!

Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes, this is the only way to unlock at the moment, there is no other way.

If you pay off the phone in full so it is no longer on a contract, Rogers will unlock your phone for 50 dollars.
