Default Iphone 3gs Stuck in DFU Mode
OK I tried to restore my Iphone 3gs it's Jail broken and base band is updated to 36.15.00.
Everything went great then it rebooted and went to black screen. I restored it to 4.3.3 using Tinyumbrella with Tss server running to allow iTunes work around for installing 4.3.3 firmware. All worked but after it said it was finished went back to Dfu mode. I then used Ireb to fix boot issue used redsnow to boot into tethered mode and the iPhone booted up but, when the phone went to sleep after a minute went right back to dfu black screen. I am at a loss here on what to do. now the phone only goes to black screen can not hold power and home to force reboot or use redsnow, Ireb, or Fixboot. iTunes will not restore again. I get the error 1601 every time. I tried redsnow to start it and it will not reboot to finish the process. Nothing i do will restart the phone.

Specs: Iphone 3gs running 4.3.3 custom firmware
    modem firmware 6.15.00
    jail broken with redsnow
I do not have any shsh blobs

    Any help will be great.

Sorry, but if you "do not have any shsh blobs" you have two choices: the current version 4.3.5 or 4.1.

Both 4.3.5 and 4.1 restores require a custom firmware restore because you have 6.15.x iPad BB installed.

I have tried every link in Google for 4.1 ipsw and none work. I can't find any custom 4.3.5 ipsw's at this point just getting the phone back to a usable state works for me. do you have any idea where I can get the 4.1 ipsw I have an Att Sim

4.1 is preferred because it's fully jailbreakable. 4.3.5 is not.

Use Snowbreeze v2.1 + stock iOS 4.1, and build your own custom 4.1 firmware.
    Continue w/Snowbreeze and enter 'pwnd-DFU'.
Shift/select custom firmware and restore /iTunes
If iTunes 10xx error, use Tiny Umbrella 'exit recovery' option.

Error 1600 means you're not getting into pwnd-DFU mode. This mode is required.
From Snowbreeze, follow the count-down timer precisely.

I have snow breeze shows i am in PWND mode and says open iTunes etc etc.If you get error unplug and start over. Which I have countless times. Might have to give in and just buy another one.

Re-download 4.1 stock firmware and Snowbreeze 2.1 (links in sig)
Plug in phone, wait 1 minute. Ignore iTunes if it opens or closes.
Hold power + home for 8-10 second. Notice high-low sound on computer and iPhone screen is blank.
Run Snowbreeze, Simple Mode, build custom 4.1 firmware.
Continue w/Snowbreeze, enter pwnd-DFU. Say yes to new boot-rom
    Do not unplug .....
    Load w/iTunes.

Did your phone have water damage? Or other hardware issues?

    Error 28

Hardware error. Return your device to Apple if possible. The problem is a bad dock connector on the iPhone. Must change the connector. If you have tried almost everything, reset the logic board (leave uncharged for five days or remove battery for half an hour), then pwn and restore. if this doesn't work, the "hard disk" of your iPhone is damaged

Try it again using the same process, change the cable, USB, and computer if possible.
If the same error is reported it looks like a hardware problem.

Do you have the receipt? The serial number is usually included.

Maybe you know this: do you have an old or new bootrom?

    How old is your 3GS?

    I have the New bootRom.

Sorry to hear that. The meaning of Error 28 has not changed.
