Change Default MP3 Player to work with Monster iEZClick Remote

I have a Monster iEZClick and it works great when using just ipod app but since the ipod app sucks *** I use equ so my music sounds normal. When I have equ running and press skip it opens up music in ipod instead of skipping the song playing in equ? Is there any way around this to get this to work, jailbroken or not?

No, because the built in iPod app is the default music player, no exceptions.
